Human Sculpture Bust – Regaining Power From the Earth

This ceramic human sculpture bust is titled Regaining Power From The Earth. The markings on her body represent the root of nature going right to her head and ending with leafy petal-like shapes forming a crown.

Sometimes we all need a reminder in tough times to get back into nature and regain our strength. This piece is symbolic of exactly that.

The sculpture is very organic and earthy in both texture and colour bridging the gap between nature and humanity.

The bust is hand-built using stoneware clay and glazed in a combination of green and white glazes with brown and grey oxides.

She is a very textured piece with some glazed and some unglazed areas. This is intentional to add interest and depth and to increase the desire to explore the texture. Please check the detail photos to see the glazing layers and textures.

Measuring 26cm high to the top of her head, with a width of 22cm and a depth of 12cm – approximately.

There is an opening in the head to allow for sticks collected from nature walks to be placed or perhaps dried flowers. The sculpture is open at the bottom (no base) so cannot be used as a vase for fresh flowers.

Due to the fragile detail, local collection is preferred or I may be able to deliver locally in Norfolk.
